DUTIES: This individual will support the Director in oversight of the largest US Army Corps of Engineers program ever ¿ the Korean Relocation Program. This $13 billion dollar program is charged with relocating nearly 30,000 existing U.S. troops in Korea from the Yongsan Garrison in Seoul and various bases in Korea to an expanded Army Garrison Humphreys in Pyeongtaek (55 miles south of Seoul). This joint U.S. funded program that includes both the Yongsan Relocation Program and the Land Part Partnership Plan, is a landmark for the U.S. military and the Korean Ministry of National Defense (MND). Highlights of this program, which is scheduled for completion in 2016, include: ¿ Construction of approximately 700 facilities ¿ Demolition of 339 Facilities (1.9M SF) ¿ Base expansion from 1,200 to 3,500 acres ¿ Importation of 14 million cubic meters of engineered fill ¿ Growth of Camp Humphreys population from 9,000 to 44,000 ¿ New Water, Gas, Sewer, Power, and associated treatment plants, substations, etc. approx. 40 miles each ¿ New C4I: 42 miles of trench and 1000 miles of cable In addition to working with various elements of the Far East District (FED), this individual will coordinate and directly interface with senior military and civilian officials from both the US and Korean government. As the highest ranking Reserve officer within FED, serves as the senior advisor to the FED Commander on Reserve personnel issues QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Strong leadership skills equal to the grade of O-6 |
