Duties:

  • The incumbent of this position is responsible for planning and controlling audits and evaluations of AOC electronic information systems used in such programs as human resources, financial management, inventory controls and project management.

    Specifically, conducts audits that encompass complex hardware and software security applications, network and telecommunications infrastructures, operational practices, system development activities, and regulatory compliance issues. Identifies and targets system weaknesses. Develops access methods and statistical and mathematical models to identify abnormalities and system vulnerabilities. Devises innovative auditing techniques. Conducts audits to monitor the processes and their expected outcomes.
  • Serves as expert consultant on broad projects and programs with national impact to the AOC. Specifically, provides technical advice on defining problem areas for a comprehensive analysis of the overall information system (IS) management programs, operations, and activities of significant AOC national programs. Consults with all levels of AOC management, headquarters personnel, other federal agencies, and commercial organizations in the planning, execution, and resolution of IS audits and audit activities. Establishes and maintains liaison with program managers and works closely with their representatives. Advises on a wide variety of AOC programs in which novel, complex, and controversial conditions exist.
