  • The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) provides innovative leadership to federal, state, local, and tribal justice systems, by disseminating state-of-the art knowledge and practices across America, and providing grants for the implementation of these crime fighting strategies. OJP works in partnership with the justice community to identify crime-related challenges and to provide information, training, coordination and innovative strategies and approaches for addressing these challenges.


Notes:

  • This position is located in the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office of Audit, Assessment and Management (OAAM). The incumbent facilitates the accomplishments of OAAM's mission by providing internal office support in a wide range of administrative management areas. This includes, but is not limited to, formulating, recommending, monitoring, and reporting on OAAM's administrative budget and representing OAAM on any fiscal or manpower issues; developing, administering, and coordinating all management controls necessary to fulfill OAAM's programmatic goals and objectives, effectively, efficiently, and productively; and providing administrative, managerial and organizational support in personnel administration, space and logistics management, contracting and procurement, information management systems, records and publications, documents and suspense control, and others of a similar or comparable nature, either directly or through service as OAAM's principal liaison with expert staff members.


Duties:

  • Manages administrative requirements for the organization's facilities, property, and supplies. Key aspects of facilities management include facilities security, safety management and mishap investigation, facility operational activities, and telecommunications and audiovisual support for the organization. Manages administrative aspects of office supplies, office property, and office moves in support of organizational program, projects, and/or missions.
  • Coordinates the procurement and contracting functions for an organization. Provides advice and assistance to organizational staff on the documentation and justification required for requisitions.
  • Provides administrative support and guidance for organizational budgeting and financial management activities. Provides advice to management and program personnel on budgetary and finance issues such as budget formulation, justification, and execution; financial management; and financial reporting.
  • Performs tasks related to the administrative management of an organization. This includes activities such as interpreting administrative policies, developing and implementing organizational policies, defining administrative requirements, and/or providing advice to management on related issues.
  • Participates in or executes an HR advisory program for an organization to inform managers and employees of regulatory and procedural human resource requirements. Acts as liaison with the DOJ Human Resources Office. Coordinates and provides guidance to management on human resources issues.
