    BPA is a not-for-profit federal electric utility. Our high-voltage transmission grid comprises more than 15,000 miles of lines and associated substations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. BPA markets more than a third of the electricity consumed in the Pacific Northwest. The power is produced at 31 federal dams operated by the Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation and one nuclear plant in the Northwest and is sold to more than 140 Northwest utilities. BPA purchases power from seven wind projects and has more than 4,700 megawatts of wind interconnected to its transmission system.

Duties:

  • This position is located in Customer Billing within Customer Support Services and reports to the Supervisory Public Utilities Specialist (Revenue). The incumbent serves as a Public Utilities Specialist (Revenue) responsible for accurate and timely customer billing for Agency Transmission and Power Contracts which impact the business plans and financial status of the Agency. Specific duties include: analysis and billing for various products and services; in-depth analysis of products and services under new or existing contracts; reviewing and interpreting customer contracts or contract amendments or proposals to assess the impact on the billing process.
  • Analyze customer demand and energy data to ensure values are in accordance with customer's contract; explain billing processes and issues to agency staff and customers; serves as a member on Customer Account Teams to provide advice, support and guidance on billing issues; promotes good internal communications by providing information related to customers and billing issues to management and staff, within the Standards of Conduct (SOC) and OMB A-123 guidelines as a Shared Function Employee; and promotes external customer service by promptly responding to customer inquiries and by providing timely and accurate data.
