This is an Excepted Service Appointment. Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally are for 30 months, but may be extended up to 5 years. Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination

The Training Unit within the Office of Overseas Programming and Training Support is seeking a Supervisory Training Specialist to supervise a group of 4-6 Training Specialists. In addition to the already established Training Specialist responsibilities for this position, additional duties will include:
The Training Unit within the Office of Overseas Programming and Training Support is seeking a Supervisory Training Specialist to supervise a group of 4-6 Training Specialists. In addition to the already established Training Specialist responsibilities for this position, additional duties will include:
-Supervises a group of employees performing work at the FP-5, FP-4, and/or FP-3 level.
-Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.
-Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
-Observes workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques.
-Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance.
-Resolves informal complaints and grievances.
-Develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary.
